Happy New year!! 2009

by Craig on Jan.01, 2009, under General

Well I thought I’d better start the year with a new theme for my blog. The theme is called Pixeled and I found it on the Wordpress theme site. One day when I get my a into g I will design my own them.

This year I hope to actively add blog posts. I know it seems to be every year or so I seem to say this but this year I am going to make the effort.

Watching video on the Internet

by Craig on Feb.03, 2008, under General

Lately I’ve been using Google Reader to keep up-to date with my RSS Vidcasts,  but that involves me downloading the video links manually when there is something new to watch until now.

I came across Miro, this program lets you auto-download videos and watch them all within one program. Of course I use my xbox with xbmc instead but It’s great to find a program that can get all the videos I want to watch for me.

Miro Video Player

Miro also lets you search all the major video sites like YouTube and Google Videos and can poll every hour to download the content you want to watch.

Teaming up Google Picasa, Windows Live Writer and WordPress

by Craig on Dec.14, 2007, under General

For a while now I’ve been looking for a easy way to get photos from Google Picasa into WordPress without exporting the photo and then uploading the image one by one.

Then I came across Windows Live Writer. Man what a difference, once you have setup Live Writer all you have to do is drag the photo from Picasa into the Live Writer window and that’s it your photo is now part of your post.

Where to download

The Windows Live Writer logo.

    Windows Live Writer

Just select "Get Windows Live" and then when asked what products you want to install, you only need the "Writer" one.

April fool’s

by bassnet on Apr.01, 2007, under General

Community News

This has to be the one of the most stupid April fool’s joke I have ever seen. I will if I get a chance type out the full story the Community News wrote.

Newswire:”The Dean of Christchurch says his office has been fielding calls about an April Fools joke suggesting the Cathedral will need to be pulled down. The Very Reverend Peter Beck says a local newspaper article said huge cracks had appeared in the Cathedral and it would be demolished next week.
He says it also said the Anglicans would join the Catholic Cathedral, and that Russian businessmen planned to build a hotel and aquarium on the Cathedral site. Reverend Beck says the story is a bit over the top and has concerned some locals. He says some people who called were very upset, and needed assurance that it was a joke.”

Hello world!

by bassnet on Mar.30, 2007, under General

Welcome to my new blog, hopefully I will be more successful in being up-to date than my last website. This will include XBMC information and a section for my new program XBMCDPI: XBMC DVD Profiler Importer. I know there are one or two DVD Profiler programs out there for XBMC, but my one will include the much talked about(on forums anyway) video clips with storage location information for your DVD. All automatically generated video files with the DVD’s thumbnail and location in your DVD collection.

I will also have on this site my ramblings as I see the world. I believe we live in a bubble wrap society and I will post stuff here as I see the world go mad.
